Inaugural post: why I like fashion

Being into fashion as a guy can be difficult because of societal norms that often view men's fashion as less important or less valid than women's fashion. Men are often expected to dress in a more limited and traditional way, with less room for experimentation and self-expression. This can create pressure on men to conform to traditional gender norms and discourage them from expressing themselves through fashion.

Additionally, men who are interested in fashion may also face negative stereotypes and judgment from others who view fashion as a feminine interest. This can lead to a lack of representation and visibility for men in the fashion industry, and make it harder for men to find resources and support for their fashion interests.

I receive a lot of backlash for the things I wear or the interests I have and if anything, this spurs me on. It works as a form of encouragement. There is no better compliment to me than when someone says a positive thing about my outfit. It makes it completely worth the cynical sneers or jokes I endure. Everyone's style is unique, do I think my sense of style is better than others? No, but it is my own and that is what I think is great. I don't want to make this sound like I'm a martyr or doing something so impressive and important. I am not. I just hope maybe one person reads this or follows this and is able to transition more into fashion and be more inclined to wear that piece you have stored in your closet or buy those shoes you are afraid to purchase.
